Michael Flaster has provided a range of consultation services for a diverse group of media clients. For three years he served as advisor for the Digital Arts Center at the University of California San Diego Extension, where he managed and recruited part-time faculty, provided long-range planning and curriculum development. For nine months he was Project Director for Marketplace Productions and Minnesota Public Radio steering the development of nationally distributed Public Radio Weekend project. For nearly a month he consulted for the U.S. Department of State, stationed in the Republic of Moldova, he offered guidance to the senior management of TeleRadio Moldova as they transitioned into technical and programmatic compliance with European Union standards. Since 1999, he has served six times as a peer review panelist for Television, Radio, Film and New Media for the National Endowment for the Humanities. His list of station-based consultancies includes South Dakota Public Television and KWGS-FM in Tulsa and he has consulted with senior management for National Public Radio. Mr. Flaster currently serves as Strategic Advisor to UCSD/Calit2 ArtPower’s Filmatic Festival.
